Trafalgar Square
Trafalgar Square is situated in London's West End, close to both Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abbey. It commemorates the British naval victory at the Battle of Trafalgar during the Napoleonic Wars.

At the centre of Trafalgar Square is Nelson's column, commemorating Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson, who led the British to victory at Trafalgar, but who died in the battle. A statue of Nelson is at the top of this column.

At the base of the column are four lions.

North of the column is the National Gallery.

St Martin-in-the-Fields church faces onto Trafalgar Square.

Admiralty Arch is situated at the end of The Mall, opposite to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square is just through these arches.
